These links are here for the benefit of people looking for an introductory background into LETS, and to start reading about local economics and alternative currency. I have tried to select a few links which give a balanced view and Australian perspective. And some other links, as requested.
There are many to choose from. For instance, the notorious John "The Engineer" Turmel has collected a huge number of links ranging all the way to the ratbag fringe. Many are broken.

"Green" policies often include alternative economies but this page is not meant to be another Green directory.

If anybody would like to write a sensible essay giving an individual interpretation of what LETS should or shouldn't be (particularly from an Australian perspective), it will be edited and published on this page over your (pen) name. The Journal (see below) has a wider readership.

This international journal discusses the theory of all kinds of currency. LETS is only one kind. There are many solid links, enough to make this (the page you are reading) redundant as a global reference.
