June 2007: The BMT stands for Byron/Mullum/Tweed [Local Exchange Trading System].  We are a non-profit alternative trading organization that services the beautiful districts of Byron Bay, Mullumbimby and the Tweed Valley on the far north coast of NSW.   We are a growing network of individuals who exchange or trade products and skills by using a Local Currency called ?Ecos?.  BMT-Lets has a bi-weekly latest news email called LETitia, a quarterly Rainbow News Magazine, and a stall at a number of local weekend markets. In 2000 BMT LETS went into partnership with NimLETS and RivLETS to create a paper currency to allow us to trade between groups.   This has boosted business membership and given great promotional coverage to BMT LETS. [BMT LETS absorbed the Byron-Mullum LETS and Tweed Valley LETS, c. 1997].
