Brisbane LETS is a thriving organisation
of about a hundred members trading happily in the greater Brisbane
area of Queensland, Australia. It generally supports the common
principles of LETS Systems in Australia and throughout the world.
Brisbane LETS members enjoy the ability to accept credits from
any recognised
LETSystem
on the planet.
For a diversity of goods and
services, we exchange our local currency unit, which we call
simply a Unit. A Transaction Bookkeeper records everyone's balances
and issues statements. Local Units are very, very different from
federal dollars. Your credit is always good, and interest is never charged.

Our newsletter, with our Resource List, is mailed out every two months through Australia Post.
Since June 30, 2000, the fees are $8 joining fee plus $18 per year.
In addition, members make a payment of three units per month, which goes mainly to the hard-working people who keep the system operating efficiently.
Our permanent telephone number is 07 3391 4331, passing through to our Membership Secretary. (The cost is 25c for a short call from the Brisbane area.) Alternatively, email us. Or you could write to us (Box 589, F. Valley 4006) asking for a brochure, Code of Ethics and application form. A stamped, self-addressed envelope would be appreciated. But see below; it's on the web.
An application form, with the BrisLETS Code of Ethics, is now on-line. Click on the links to view them or print them off. (Expect variations in appearance; depending on your browser, it may not fit on one page)
We have tried to explain it all under philosophy. Some other LETSystems have slightly different interpretations, but are generally very similar.
There is an authoritative page of Australian
LETS links at, properly enough, www.lets.org.au

These pages are maintained by Webmaster. Please drop us a line, perhaps with your comments, so we can see if anyone interesting has visited. Thank you.
