BrisLETS is proud to host this year’s Australian National LETS Conference in Brisbane.

This years National Conference will be held on Sat 22^nd and Sun 23^rd November, 2008 at AHIMSA HOUSE, 26 Horan St, West End, Brisbane. West End is an inner-city suburb with a long history of community, bohemia, alternative and inspiring people.

The format will be similar to last year’s Newcastle Conference with two days of talks, presentations and activities focused on LETS and LETS related topics. On the Saturday night of the conference BrisLETS will be organising entertainment.

Registrations (see below) at the venue on the Friday will be part of a relaxed pamper afternoon at the venue. There is also the possibility of an organised bus tour following the conference for people who wish to extend their stay and spend a few more days. The idea is to split the cost of a 22-seater coaster and tour up the coast and into the Glasshouse Mountain hinterlands, while keeping costs to a minimum.

The conference will be a wonderful opportunity to network with members from other LETS groups from around the country in order to share ideas and information. We are all trying to reach more of our wider communities because we know LETS has an important role to play in the way people work and relate together. The world is changing and LETS is evolving with it. Come along to Brisbane this year and be an active part in something you are passionate about.

The nearest train station to the conference venue is South Brisbane and a one-way ticket from the airport to South Brisbane costs approximately $13. Free shuttles from South Brisbane railway station to the conference venue will be available.

Members of BrisLETS are offering billet accommodation for 30 Units per person per night. We will try and help with transport as much as we can.

West End has a range of accommodation near the conference venue. Rooms in Backpackers start at about $35 per night. Resorts from approx $80. Details are available upon request.
